Pen Y Cae Inn

Nestling in the picturesque upper Swansea Valley, Pen
Y Cae
feels a million miles from the coast , but its scenery is no less dramatic. The Pen Y Cae Inn is half an hour’s drive from the city, and is a truly stunning building.

Owner-chef, Anthony Christopher, has transformed it
from a small village pub into a spectacular gastropub.
Architecture combines Welsh and French oak with
Welsh slate. Local artwork adorns the walls, statues
and sculptures abound and a large garden boasts a
raised deck - perfect for summer. In such impressive
surroundings you may almost forget why you came
– the food!

The Pen Y Cae is ‘an Inn for All Seasons.’ Lunch
specials include a bowl of Mussels with White Wine,
Cream, Coriander and Peppers, or Whitebait and
Calamari on a bed of Green Salad. Why not stop by
for a drink before (or after) a mountain hike? If you
are dining in the evening, try the Breconshire Rump
of Lamb served on Garlic & Rosemary infused melody
of vegetables, finished with a rich Redcurrant Jus.
There’s also a range of grills from Rib Eye to Venison.
Menus are constantly updated and all ingredients
come from local farmers, fi shermen and suppliers:
Carmarthenshire Cheeses, Breconshire beef and
Swansea Shellfish.
